Why so many creators choose Andorra

  • A top income tax rate of 10% against 45% in the UK, and a company that pays 10% corporation tax.
  • Fibre broadband across the country, good connections and a European time zone to work with any client.
  • Mountain quality of life 3 hours from Barcelona and Toulouse: sport, nature and safety.
  • An international community of creators and digital entrepreneurs already living here.

Which residency fits you

Depending on how you work, there are two main routes (a third, as an employee, only if an Andorran company hires you):

International profile professionalAt least 85% of your turnover from outside Andorra, a non-refundable €50,000 contribution and at least 90 days a year in the country
Self-employed (your own company)More than 34% of an Andorran company and a director's role, a €50,000 contribution (digital economy projects may be exempt) and more than 183 days a year
Tax residenceTo pay tax only in Andorra you must live here more than 183 days a year or have your centre of interests here, whatever your permit

What it means in numbers

On £100,000 of salary, you keep about £86,850 net in Andorra, compared with about £68,560 in the UK. Profits left in your Andorran company are taxed at 10%, and the dividends you take as a resident are exempt.

The home you need

Look for natural light, a room for your studio or set, good sound insulation and views that look great on camera. Escaldes-Engordany and Andorra la Vella are practical for everyday life; La Massana and Ordino offer more space and mountains 10–15 minutes away.

Your move, step by step

  1. Check with an adviser where you are tax resident today and how to end that residence (in the UK, the Statutory Residence Test).
  2. Choose your route: international profile or your own Andorran company.
  3. Find a home (rentals are scarce, so many buy) and, as a foreigner, apply for investment authorisation.
  4. Submit your residency application at Immigració with your address in place.
  5. Move in, register with the comú and keep evidence of genuine residence.

Frequently asked questions

Which residency should a YouTuber apply for in Andorra?

If almost all your income comes from abroad (platforms, brands, foreign clients), the international profile permit; if you prefer to operate through an Andorran company, self-employed residency. It depends on how your income is structured.

Do I have to live in Andorra 183 days a year?

The international profile permit requires 90 days, but to be tax resident in Andorra and stop paying tax at home you need to live here more than 183 days or have your centre of interests here.

Does platform income count as foreign turnover?

Yes, income from foreign platforms and brands is turnover from outside Andorra, which is what the international profile permit requires.

Can I rent before buying?

Yes, but rentals are very limited and expensive (around €3,000 a month on average). That is why many creators buy a flat from the start.
