How it is calculated

We apply Spain's 2026 state and regional income tax scales (Madrid and Catalonia; an average scale for other regions), employee social security, the 19–30% savings scale and, for France, the 2026 income tax scale with family quotient, CEHR and the 31.4% flat tax. For the UK: 2026/27 income tax including the personal allowance taper above £100,000, employee National Insurance at 8% / 2% and the dividend rates (Scottish rates are not included). For Andorra: 6.5% CASS, 10% income tax with €24,000 tax-free, the relief up to €40,000 and €1,000 per child, plus 10% on investment income with €3,000 exempt.

More detail in our articles:

How much tax do you save by living in Andorra?

It depends on your income and where you live now. On a UK salary of £100,000, take-home pay rises from about £68,600 to about £86,900 a year in Andorra. On a gross salary of €100,000, the saving is around €22,000–24,000 a year compared with Spain and around €23,000 compared with France.

Does the calculator include wealth tax?

No. It compares income tax, social security and tax on investment income. Andorra has no wealth or inheritance tax, so the real saving can be higher.

Is there a UK–Andorra double tax treaty?

Yes. It entered into force on 22 December 2025 and applies to UK income tax and capital gains tax from 6 April 2026. It decides which country taxes items such as pensions or UK rental income.
